Golf Accommodation East Lothian

The Glebe House Luxury Golfing B and B in North Berwick

“Golf in East Lothian is something every enthusiast should experience.  It is unique in the world due to its concentration of fantastic courses dotted along a very picturesque coastline.  It really is no wonder it is known as Scotland’s Golf Coast”  so says Gary Player winner of 9 Major titles and 165 tournaments world wide!

“East Lothian’s Golf Coast is a gem that should be on your must play list when planning a visit to Scotland ” quote from Mike Harris , Editor of Golf Monthly.

East Lothian has been called a haven or paradise for golfers and indeed with the area’s micro climate combined with the vast number of golf courses, mostly links , this  has to be true!

North Berwick  offers links golf on a beautiful stretch of land with views over to the Bass Rock and across the Firth of Forth.  A six times Open Qualifying Venue .  The combination of authentic links golf, unarguably great holes and outstanding sea views makes for a joyous experience.

The Glen also in North Berwick, laid out on the cliff top above the sea gives stunning views combining parkland type turf with more than a hint of seaside links.  Good holiday golf and a lot of fun!

Muirfield  many times host to The Open,  is one of the finest golf courses in the world.    The course is perhaps the fairest test of a golfer’s ability to play links golf.  Muirfield  is just five minutes drive from the Glebe House .

Gullane No 1 a true links course playable all year round . Open Championship Final Qualifying Venue in 2013 and has hosted many other  major championships

Gullane No 2 has  hosted the Seniors Open Amateur Championship.  The course runs down Gullane Hill towards Aberlady Bay.

Gullane No 3 is  shorter than its neighbours but a fine course for testing your game and a fun course to play.

Also nearby are Luffness New, Dunbar, Archerfield and Craigielaw, which together with others gives a total of more than  twenty  golf courses in the area,  more fine golf courses per square mile than anywhere else in Scotland!
